Advent, the season encompassing the four Sunday’s prior to Christmas, is traditionally a time intended to prepare for Jesus' birthday. Since its inception, many have used advent calendars to help count down the days to Christmas, building excitement and anticipation for the big day.
A traditional advent calendar is usually a small, disposable cardboard calendar filled with small chocolates or toys that are opened on each day counting all the way down to Christmas. Modern advent calendars have taken on a life of their own, becoming more unique and complex, meaning that you can find the perfect calendar for almost anyone!
In 2023, Advent begins on December 3rd and ends on December 24th (Christmas Eve), so if you want to gift an advent calendar make sure you plan ahead! But before you dive down the advent calendar rabbit hole, check out these different advent calendar themes to help you find the perfect one.
